Per Kirksaeter (born January 3, 1930 in Trondheim , Norway ) is a Norwegian entrepreneur who founded the audio equipment manufacturer Kirksaeter .

Career

Kirksaeter came from a wealthy musical family. His parents mastered various instruments, but Kirksaeter didn't play any. When he was 14, Kirksaeter built his first loudspeaker. After his parents, who in the meantime had lost almost their entire fortune due to the Second World War , and were finally 16 years old as Kirksaeter, he planned to study after graduating from high school. However, since the study places were given primarily to soldiers who had returned from the war, he finally took the subject electrical engineering at an evening school.

In 1958 Kirksaeter moved to Germany to take on a job in the sales department of Tandberg . After he married in 1960 and had two children with his wife, including today's sociologist Janicke Kirksaeter , in 1961 he took over the complete hi-fi sales of Tandberg in Germany with the company he had founded in the meantime. In 1964 he took over Audio Son in Frankfurt. The company connection created became audioson-kirksaeter . Later the name was changed back to Kirksaeter . Today the company is based in Düsseldorf .

In the meantime, Kirksaeter lives again in Norway and lives in a house in Oslo .
