Perch (unit)

Perch , also known as pole or rod , is an English measure of length and was used (according to the German rod ) in agriculture and forestry as a field measure. Nowadays it is still used as a measure of area (short for Square Perch ), especially in Jamaica and Sri Lanka and partly in Queensland .

In the Ionian Islands had the measure

  • 1 perch (rod) = 5,029 meters

The perch corresponds to 25.29 square meters or 1/160 of an acre .
