PerfectGoal is a football manager browser game that is developed and operated by the company Art-e-Facts from Hanover in cooperation with the former professional football player and world champion Gerd Müller . The game therefore bears the suffix “Gerd Müller's PerfectGoal”. The official start of the game was on October 1st, 2009, the game is now offline and the game has been discontinued.

Gameplay

General

The game is aimed on the one hand at football fans and aficionados, but also on players who prefer structural or economic simulations and for whom the focus on club management is more important than sporting success.

When registering, each player first selects the time zone in which he would like to play, because the games take place at fixed times of the day. You can play a game at 07:30, 10:15, 13:00, 15:45, 18:30 and 21:15. Each game runs in real time, including a 15-minute half-time.

A new user receives a base stadium and a squad of 15 including coaches. The new team is still very young and little trained. In the course of the game, the strength of the squad grows every day through training, player purchases and youth work.

You start on a preliminary round server on which the three seasons from 3:45 p.m. are each occupied with one game. It is important to find out how best to set up, deploy and train the players on the pitch. During a game, changes to tactics and stakes, moves such as pressing or counterattacking, and spectator activities can influence the course of the game.

Game surface

The game is graphically designed. Numerous views such as the manager's office, the club's premises or all extensions are realistic as 3D graphics. The line-up for a game is carried out by drag and drop from the players bench, but can also be carried out automatically by the system if desired. The only Flash element in the game is currently the wheel of fortune. Each player receives a chip every day to spin the wheel. 80 different prizes are distributed, which can contain, for example, chips (the game currency) or objects and licenses.

To follow one or more matches, you open the "live ticker", in which the latest events of the game are displayed every minute, but in which you can also start the moves or provide support via the audience.

Seasons, championships and cups

If the new user is ready after a few days to measure their team in league games, they select a league server for promotion. These league servers are also available in different time zones. A change to the league server can always take place on Mondays, because the season begins on Tuesday and the country servers run offset by one week.

A season lasts 34 game days and the subsequent game-free Monday. There are 63 leagues with 18 teams each on each league server, making a total of 1134 teams. These are arranged in the form of a pyramid.

The professional leagues:

  • a first division
  • two 2nd leagues
  • four 3rd leagues

The amateur leagues:

  • eight 4th leagues
  • sixteen 5th leagues
  • thirty-two 6th leagues

The league games take place every evening at 6:30 p.m. The ratings and thus the tables are kept according to the generally applicable football rules.

At least one cup tournament (PerfectCup) takes place every season. Here the teams play against each other at 9:15 p.m. according to the KO system and the three best on each server receive a trophy for the team overview.

Stadium and periphery

Parallel to the game, the player can expand his stadium with grandstands, standing areas, seats, boxes and VIP boxes, as well as expand elements such as floodlights, scoreboards, coaches' benches, but also hotels, fan shops or a youth boarding school in around 200 expansion stages. The quality of the expansion and entrance fees, together with the factors weather, league and opponents, have an effect on the number of spectators and thus on the club's income.

Monetization

The game is financed through the sale of items that increase gaming comfort or provide additional functions. In the item shop, the player can purchase motivational gifts, drums for the spectators, chips for the wheel of fortune or manager licenses. These licenses contain numerous other items and extended views with which, for example, one can better assess the training strength of the opponent, plan longer in advance or recognize the talent value of a player on the transfer market.

The only chargeable restriction for regular game operations is professional approval for the top three leagues. It costs 1.50 euros per month, but can also be won on the wheel of fortune. With the acquisition of the so-called "Times", the player can also shorten many time-consuming processes, i.e. complete expansions faster, cure injuries faster or reduce the time spent in training camps. The game is so far completely free of advertising banners or advertisements.

development

The entire game has been translated into several languages and can currently be played in German, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Polish, Bulgarian and Turkish. Support is also available in these languages. Since the start of the game, over 110,000 users from all over the world have registered with PerfectGoal. The largest share of the 40,000 active players at the moment are players from Germany and Poland . The game includes a shoutbox for chatting and a message system for each language.

From May 2010, PerfectGoal was also included in the portfolio of the publisher and browser game portal Playnik.
