Persian Wars is a computer game that was released on May 14, 2001. It was developed by Cryo Interactive Entertainment for Microsoft Windows .

action

Based on the stories from the Arabian Nights , you play a young warrior named Sindbad, who after a long journey through the desert is taken in by the Bedouin tribe of the Danil-Gabir, after he rescues their wives from an attack by hyenas and their men from slavery the Amazons freed. After these events, the legendary ring of Solomon falls from heaven, and the Bedouin tribes discuss who will lead the clans united in the fight against the Amazons and the ghouls in order to get the ring. From this point the game becomes non-linear, the player can influence the course of the story based on his decisions and optionally join the Amazons or the Guhlen. While the player can take different paths, the end sequence always remains the same. Sinbad gives the living corpse of King Solomon his ring back, which he hurls back to the stars.

Game mechanics

The game has the same game engine as The Chronicles of the Black Moon and the gameplay is similar to the Total War series. The player can move his army from the campaign map and expand his home village with money (in the game Dinars ) with new buildings in order to be able to train new types of troops for his army. Fights are then carried out with these troops in pausable real time . There are three factions: the Bedouins, the Amazons and the Guhle, each with their own troop grid.

reception

The game magazine PC Games gave Persian Wars a rating of only 22% and criticized outdated graphics and inadequate AI as well as various technical problems.
