Elsner Ridge is a narrow mountain ridge extending over a length of 10 km to the southwest in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Admiralty Mountains it rises 6 km northeast of the southern end of the Homerun Range .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1970 after Robert W. Elsner, biologist of the United States Antarctic Research Program on the McMurdo- Station in three Antarctic summer campaigns between 1967 and 1970.
