Pertica (unit)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The pertica , also known as percha , was an Italian measure of length and the rod. As a square pertica , it was used as a measure of area.

Length measure

In Venice a distinction was made between large and small rods. The determining factor was the Venetian foot , piede, with 0.347735 meters (1 meter = 2.875753 piedi).

    • Large rod: 1 Pertica grande / Cavezzo = 6 Piedi = 924.9 Parisian lines = 2.08641 meters
    • small tail: 1 Pertica piccola / Chebbo = 4.5 Piedi = 1.564807 meters
  • Duchy of Parma
    • 1 Pertica = 6 Bracci di legno = 72 Once = 864 Punti = 10368 Atomi = 1442 Parisian lines = 3.25 meters

Area measure

In Milan, with a different foot measurement (0.435185 meters), it was a square measure.

    • 1 square pertica = 24 tavoles = 96 square trabucchi = 3456 square piedi = 654.5179615 square meters = 6.54518 ares
  • Grand Duchy of Tuscany with Florence
    • 1 square pertica / square canna = 80.7 Paris square feet
    • 66 square perticche = 1 stajolo = 1/10 saccato
  • Duchy of Parma
    • 1 square pertica = 100 Parisian square feet = 10,552 square meters
    • 4 square perticche = 1 travola
    • 48 square-Perticche = 1 Staro
  • Piacenza
    • 1 square pertica = 24 travoles = 96 square cavezzi = 75 1/3 Parisian square feet = 7,949 square meters
  • Venice
    • 1 square pertica = 640 travoles = 41.25 Paris square feet = 4.853 square meters
