biography

Gligorovski was one of the pioneers of the Yugoslav comic scene and animation artist in the 1950s, working mainly in a Zagreb-centered group of animators. After training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade and specializing in animation in Zagreb , he produced animation films for TV Skopje from 1963 to 1968.

Works

He produced several films, a number of technical-experimental scenes and two unfinished film projects.

The trademark of his films are polychrome, predominantly biomorphic forms in recurring and subtle patterns and form a unique and unmistakable style. Thematically, his films dealt with universal and mythical subjects such as birth, the fall of man, the apocalypse and the phoenix through visual allegories and metaphors . In some works, documentary sequences were embedded to reinforce the leitmotif, not so much for reasons of optics or exploring technical limits.
