Petar Zoranić
Petar Zoranić [ pɛtar zɔranitɕ ] (* 1508 in Zadar , † about 1569 ) was a Croatian writer of the Renaissance from Zadar and Planine ( "Mountains") creator of the first stand-alone novel in the Croatian language . The novel, written in 1538, combines pastoral and love themes with clear influences from Virgil , Ovid , Dante Alighieri and Francesco Petrarca .
The exact date of Zoranić's death is unknown.
