Pete Cornish (* before 1972) is a British electrician and effects device manufacturer . He founded his company of the same name, which is still family-owned to this day, in 1976. Life

“I was in bed with one of these teething troubles when I was eight years old or so […] My mom brought me a copy of Practical Wireless magazine and it seemed more interesting to me than playing soccer. […] It fascinated me because it wasn't a common hobby of a teenager. I've been tied up ever since. My uncle, my mother's brother, knew a lot about radios and other mechanical and electrical things. [...] He supported me a lot. I always went to him to build radios or amplifiers [...] ”, says Cornish. As a high school student, Cornish was very interested in math and physics . Shortly after finishing school, Cornish was given one of the then sixteen places available to work as an electrician and mechanic with the Ministry of Aviation . There, Cornish assessed, inspected and repaired military equipment. When asked about his time in the military, Cornish reflected: “We worked in extreme situations. We fired projectiles from rifles and dropped bombs from military planes. It was my job to make these weapons of war work when they are fired. [...] Because I have completed such a training and have worked for these standards, our systems can also withstand tours so well [...] ".

After Cornish retired from the British military, he began working in the London music business Sound City . There he quickly realized what bad musical instruments had been sold there and wanted to improve them himself. Although the business wasn't selling good products from Cornish's point of view, the music house built a reputation for repairing amplifiers and effects devices. It was there that Cornish started the amplifiers and effects devices of artists like Yes , Queen , Pink Floyd , Average White Band , Bay City Rollers , Caravan , Squeeze , Roxy Music , Genesis , Led Zeppelin , Rod Stewart , Moody Blues , Elton John , The Kinks , Status Quo , Family , Wishbone Ash , Thin Lizzy , Leo Sayer , Fleetwood Mac , King Crimson and Black Sabbath .

Since then, Cornish has been one of the world's best known and most popular "problem solvers" for technical complications in the field of musical instruments as well as a manufacturer of effects devices and rack systems. For Eric Clapton Cornish put the Soldano / Cornish Guitar routing system in collaboration with Michael J. Soldano, Jr ago.
