Leo Sayer
Leo Sayer (born May 21, 1948 in Shoreham-by-Sea , Sussex , England ; actually Gerard Hugh Sayer ) is a Grammy- winning British singer and songwriter .
biography
Leo Sayer had his greatest musical successes between 1973 and 1983. His first hit, The Show Must Go On , was number two in the UK in 1973. His most successful hits include Long Tall Glasses (1974), Moonlighting (1975), the two US number one hits You Make Me Feel Like Dancing (1976) and When I Need You (1977), More Than I Can Say ( 1980) and Have You Ever Been in Love (1982), for which he received the Ivor Novello Award . From 1983 his success waned, but he continued to release records.
Attempts at comeback with studio albums in 1990 and 2005 were without any major commercial success. On the other hand, he was more successful with regularly published compilations of his great successes. 2,006 later reached House Title Thunder in My Heart Again , a new recording of the same name Sayers hit of 1977 in collaboration with DJ Meck , No. 1 on the UK singles charts . In 2016 the hardcore DJ and producer DJ Promo sampled Sayers Thunder In My Heart in the work of the same name. In 2017, Sayer appeared in commercials for the car rental company Enterprise with his song When I Need You .
Sayer received a lot of attention in 2007 for his participation in the British reality show Celebrity Big Brother , which he left prematurely.
Sayer is still very active as a musician. The studio album Restless Years was released in 2015 , followed by Selfi in April 2019. He also tours regularly.
Sayer has been an Australian citizen since January 2009.
