In 1952 he passed the master craftsman's examination in Vevey and from 1959 he worked as a temporary vocational teacher at the Lucerne School of Trade. His clients included architects, industry, monument preservation and the theater. Since 1991 he lived in Saint-Julien-de-Peyrolas in France .

job

In the 1952s Peter Ammon came across 4 × 5 inch color films from the USA , with which he made reports on rural life in Switzerland. This work is unique in Switzerland. The first appearance of 4 × 5 inch color films in Switzerland is set to 1958. The series, created between 1952 and 1962 and consisting of 160 slides that still exist today , is therefore of great documentary and historical photographic value.
