Peter Badel

Peter Badel (born August 9, 1953 in Berlin ) is a German cameraman for feature documentaries, feature films and television films.

life and work

From 1977 to 1981 Peter Badel completed a camera degree at the University of Film and Television Potsdam , Babelsberg. He then worked as a cameraman in the DEFA studio for feature films until 1990. Since 1992 he has been working freelance in Germany and around the world.

Peter Badel is a professor in the camera course at the University of Film and Television "Konrad Wolf" in Potsdam-Babelsberg and teaches as a lecturer at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg and the FH Dortmund . In addition, Peter Badel is also involved internationally in various projects such as "Breathless" or the Kodak Masterclass in Budapest.

He worked successfully with the directors Thomas Heise , Bernhard Stephan , Maxim Dessau ( Schnauzer , 1983), Hans Wintgen , Christian Klemke , Jan Lorenzen , Inga Wolfram , Thomas Jacob , Jan Ruzicka , Richard Engel and Peter Kahane .

Peter Badel's camerawork ranges from cinema to theater recordings to various television formats. His most recent camera work from 2009 includes material by Thomas Heise , Titus - Fall of Rome by Brigitte Maria Mayer and Sergej in the urn about the scientist and visionary Sergei Tschachotin (director: his grandson Boris Hars-Tschachotin ).

Several exhibition projects on the subjects of film, theater and photography have already been created, and a current project, “Zeit Sprung”, is dedicated to photographs from various decades.

Peter Badel is married and has two children.
