Peter Baker (born December 10, 1931 - January 27, 2016 ) was an English football player and coach .

Athletic career

Baker moved in 1952 from non-league football from Enfield FC to Tottenham Hotspur . Here he developed over time to become a regular and in 1961 won the double of the championship and FA Cup with the team . In 1964 the club committed Cyril Knowles , who ousted him from the team. He then moved to South Africa after 299 championship games for the London club a year later, where he played for Durban United . In 1968 he briefly returned to England, where he played non-league football at Romford FC .

Baker later settled in South Africa, where he played again for Durban United until his retirement in 1970. He later coached the club at times.
