Peter Beaumont (journalist)

Peter Beaumont (born November 28, 1961 in Skegness , Lincolnshire ) is a British journalist. He works for the Observer and the Guardian . Beaumont has reported from conflict zones and war zones, including Afghanistan and Iraq, Kosovo, Macedonia and Bosnia, the Near and Middle East (Israel, Lebanon, Gaza Strip), and Libya, Sudan, Liberia, Burundi and Angola. He is considered a terrorism and security expert.

Beaumont attended the Hampton Grammar School in London and graduated from Keble College , Oxford. He has been working for the Observer since 1989. He lives in London.
