Peter Beckmann (physicist)

Peter Beckmann (born June 20, 1931 in Münster ) is a German physicist.

Career

Beckmann received his doctorate in 1958. He then worked as a research assistant at Harry Lehmann in Hamburg. From 1961 he was a research assistant to J. Hans D. Jensen at the University of Heidelberg. In 1962 he was appointed associate professor for theoretical nuclear physics at the University of Mainz and the following year as professor for theoretical physics. He stayed there until his retirement.

The recent scientific focus of his work has been on nonlinear effects in production engineering systems.
