Peter Bernasconi (politician, 1948)

Peter Bernasconi (born May 3, 1948 ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Life

education and profession

Bernasconi grew up in Grenchen . He attended the school there and later went to the canton school in Solothurn . From 1969 to 1972 he attended the Burgdorf University of Applied Sciences, where he received a degree in civil engineering. From 1974 to 1975 he attended the Brugg / Windisch University of Applied Sciences, where he graduated as a spatial planner NDS / HTL. Then he worked in a private engineering office as a spatial planner. From 1977 to 1988 Bernasconi was Scientific Adjunct at the Federal Office for Forestry and Landscape Protection. From 2005 to 2008 he completed part-time training as a mediator at the Bern University of Applied Sciences. Since January 1st, 2009 he has been working as an independent consultant and mediator.

Bernasconi is married and has two children, a son and a daughter.

Political career

Bernasconi sat on the municipal council of Worb from 1985 to 1988 . From 1989 to 2008 he was a Full-time mayor of Worb. Furthermore, since June 1, 1998, he has been a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern for the Mittelland-Nord constituency and belongs to the SP-JUSO- PSA parliamentary group . From 2006 he was a member of the Justice Commission of the Grand Council. Bernasconi did not run for the 2014 Grand Council elections and thus left parliament on May 31, 2014.
