Peter Boye Johannsen

Peter Boye Johannsen (born December 9, 1666 in Meldorf , † October 1, 1721 in Rendsburg ) was a royal Danish colonel and chief of the 4th Danish Infantry Regiment.

His parents were the parish bailiff of Meldorf Johann Johannsen and his wife Margarethe Boye .

He became an ensign in the Queen's body regiment in 1685. In 1687 he was promoted to second lieutenant. In 1689 the regiment was leased to England, but the ship on which Johannsen's company was to be brought to Ireland was seized by the French pirate Jean Bart . Johannsen came into French captivity and was first brought to Abbeville and later to Chartres . It was not until 1691 when the exchange took place in Rotterdam. Nevertheless, he served in 1693 in the Royales Danois under Ratzau. He did not return to Denmark until 1696. On March 21, 1696 he received the character of a captain in the Queen's body regiment, on June 8, 1697 he became a real captain. On June 24, 1706 he became a major and on June 9, 1710, a lieutenant colonel. In 1711 he commanded the escort of the Saxon battalion to Buxtehude. On July 8, 1713 he was given the character of a colonel and became chief of the 4th Danish Infantry Regiment, and on November 14, 1716 he became a real colonel. He died in Rendsburg in 1721, the regiment was disbanded in the same year.

He was married to Elisabeth Hedwig Fenninghausen from Lübeck . The couple had several children:
