Peter Brakelmann

Heinz-Peter Brakelmann (born April 7, 1958 in Wuppertal ; † June 11, 2011 there ) was a German politician .

Life

Brakelmann, born in Wuppertal in 1958, graduated from secondary school in 1973 . He did an apprenticeship as a fitter and then worked as a fault clearance fitter and foreman at the Wuppertal public utilities , from 1994 on the works council . In 1980 he joined the CDU . From 1989 to 1994 he was a member of the Wuppertal-Barmen district council. In 1999 he became deputy chairman of the Bergisches Land district association of Christian-Democratic workers (CDA). From 1994 to 2005 he was a member of the Wuppertal City Council, where he was deputy parliamentary group chairman from 1999 to 2005 . Peter Brakelmann was a member of the ver.di union .

In the 2005 state elections , Brakelmann in constituency 32 (Wuppertal II) was elected as a direct candidate for the CDU in the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament. He was a member of parliament from June 8, 2005 to June 8, 2010. His main areas of responsibility were work, health and social issues. In the 2010 election he was not re-elected to the state parliament.

He died of a serious illness on June 11, 2011.
