Peter Caffrey

Peter Caffrey (born April 18, 1949 in Dublin , † January 1, 2008 in Shrewsbury , England) was an Irish actor .

Career

Caffrey was best known as Padraig O'Kelly in parts 1 through 4 of Ballykissangel . He also had significant roles in Casualty and Peak Practice . In his thirty-year acting career, he was seen in almost 30 television and cinema roles. After moving to London , he became a familiar face on British television. His success at Ballykissangel came after he was diagnosed with oral cancer in 1992. In 2000 he suffered a stroke from which he did not recover properly. Caffrey died on January 1, 2008 in England at the age of 58 and was buried in Mount Jerome Cemetery in Dublin.
