Peter Dohms

Peter Dohms (born May 10, 1941 in Göttingen ; † May 6, 2019 in Krefeld ) was a German historian and archivist .

Dohms studied history, Latin and philosophy at the universities of Bonn and Munich. After completing his doctorate, he completed the archive clerkship at the Marburg Archive School from 1967 to 1969 and was then employed as an assessor at the North Rhine-Westphalian Main State Archive in Düsseldorf . From 1990 to 2006 he was the editor of the journal “ Der Archivar ” published by the main state archive (since 2003 by the state archive of North Rhine-Westphalia) . He was retired in 2006.
