Peter Eykmann

Peter Eykmann (born July 1, 1941 in Kevelaer , Kleve district , † March 1, 2006 ) was a German politician of the FDP .

education and profession

Peter Eykmann attended elementary school, from which he switched to grammar school in 1952 and which he attended until 1959. From 1959 to 1960 he completed the vocational school. He did his military service from 1961 to 1964. From 1964 to 1966 he attended the Administration Academy, where he received his degree in administration. From 1964 he was an administrative employee. In 1965, Eykmann became head of the Federal Association for Self-Protection in Recklinghausen. From 1962 to 1964 he was a member of the German delegation at the NATO headquarters for Central Europe.

Peter Eykmann had been a member of the FDP since 1955. From 1964 to 1971 he was chairman of the FDP local association Oer-Erkenschwick. He was a member of the Recklinghausen District Main Committee of the FDP from 1964 to 1965 and from 1967 to 1971. From 1971 he acted as Chairman of the FDP District Association Recklinghausen and member of the District Committee Ruhr-East of the FDP. From 1973 Eykmann was a member of the Federal Expert Committee on Security Policy of the FDP. He became a member of the state board of North Rhine-Westphalia in 1974. He was a member of the German employees' union from 1972. He had various functions in the staff council of the Federal Association for Self-Protection.

From May 28, 1975 to May 28, 1980, Peter Eykmann was a member of the 8th state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia , which he entered via the state list.
