The Armageddon cycle takes place in the Confederation universe . The topic is the threatened annihilation of humanity by the "possessed". The souls of the deceased are able to take over the bodies of living people and other intelligent beings through an anomaly. It's a space opera .

The Armageddon cycle deals with the development of mankind in the future and, to a large extent, with the hereafter, with a rather unusual theory being described. A large area of the cycle describes different civilizations that emerged from humanity, but have diverged ethically, especially with regard to the question of how artificially created life forms and genetic changes are dealt with. This gives rise to different and equally interesting aspects of the formation of new social systems and dealing with death.

The Armageddon cycle presents a large number of very different storylines and characters, which are sometimes followed over long passages. In doing so, the reader can easily keep track of things because - without falling into clichés - clearly different attributes of the individual characters are worked out and followed up.

The Commonwealth saga is set in the Commonwealth universe, but further in the future as Misspent Youth . There, large technology corporations actually control mankind, which with the help of wormhole technology has colonized a multitude of planets in several phases and has made space travel unnecessary. Humans have discovered some races of extraterrestrial beings, all of which are harmless or peaceful. Only a group of guerrilla fighters who call themselves "Guardians of Selfhood" claims that an alien called "Starflyer" has infiltrated the Commonwealth. You have been fighting him and his "agents" for a hundred and forty years.

Then an astronomer discovers that two solar systems are extinguished within seconds or are surrounded by a force field that only allows infrared radiation to pass through. Because these stars are too far away to be reached with a normal wormhole, a faster than light ship is built. Upon arrival, the shield is deactivated by the spaceship "Second Chance", whereupon the residents first attack the "Second Chance" and shortly afterwards the Commonwealth. After building warships, the Commonwealth tries to fight back with new weapons, but the attack is unsuccessful. With the introduction of new, extremely effective weapons, the question arises whether a genocide against the aliens is the only solution to the conflict.

The Void Trilogy is set in the Commonwealth Universe, but about 1,500 years further in the future than the Commonwealth saga. After the victory over the aliens and the gigantic task of giving the inhabitants of the evacuated planets a new home, humanity has evolved. Humanity has split into several factions, which differ from one another not only ideologically, but also more and more biologically. When Wilson Kime orbited the galaxy, humans not only discovered many new species, but also the "void" - a gigantic void in the center of the galaxy that, like a black hole, threatens to engulf the whole galaxy.

But a person named Inigo has telepathic dreams and can see inside the emptiness - a wonderful world seems to await people. A religious following quickly emerges, called "Living Dream", who want nothing more than to undertake a pilgrimage into the void. However, not only are many people against it, the aliens named Raiel are also unwilling to let this happen, because this would lead to a new expansion of the void and the destruction of millions of worlds.

But in the many factions of humanity there are also those who would find an expansion of the void desirable so that only the strongest of humanity and the galaxy survive. As the Living Dream believers prepare for their journey, a race ensues.

In 2011, Hamilton announced another trilogy from the Commonwealth Universe. He later reduced the announced volume to two volumes.

It is again about the void from the trilogy The Dark Universe. From the dreams of the human Inigo, the alien race of the Raiel recognizes that the capital on Querencia in the Void is one of their spaceships. They ask Nigel Sheldon, one of the inventors of wormhole technology, to travel into the void and contact the spaceship. Sheldon sends a clone of himself into the void. However, it does not land on Querencia, but on another world, also inhabited by humans. This is threatened by another race stranded in the void, the Fallers.
