Peter Freitag (lawyer)
Peter Freitag (born October 6, 1945 in Berlin ) is a German lawyer and former judge at the Federal Labor Court . From January 1998 to the end of October 2009 he was the presiding judge of the 10th Senate of the Federal Labor Court in Erfurt .
Life
After studying law , completing his legal clerkship and obtaining his doctorate in 1972 at the University of Regensburg , he began his judicial career in labor courts in July 1973 as a judge at the labor court in Berlin . From this post he was seconded to the Federal Labor Court as a research assistant for two years . At the end of 1984 Peter Freitag was appointed presiding judge at the Berlin Regional Labor Court and in 1986 as a federal judge at the Federal Labor Court. At the Federal Labor Court, he was first a member of the 4th, then the 10th, then the 6th and finally as chairman of the 10th Senate of the Federal Supreme Court from the beginning of 1998 . At the end of October 2009, Freitag retired.
