Peter Frerichs

Peter Frerichs (born August 15, 1945 in Wiesbaden ) was police chief of the police headquarters in West Hesse from 1999 to 2010 .

Life

Peter Frerichs was born in Wiesbaden in 1945 and attended elementary school on Riederberg and the Zietenschule in Wiesbaden for a year before he moved to Frankfurt am Main in 1957, where he graduated from high school in 1965.

In April 1965 he joined the Hessian police . After completing his training, he switched to individual service in Frankfurt am Main in December 1966 . In July 1967 he switched to the criminal investigation department . He stayed in Frankfurt am Main until 1977, and in the meantime completed his training as a higher service at the Police Leadership Academy in Münster-Hiltrup .

In July 1977 Frerichs was transferred to the Hessian State Criminal Police Office, where he became the deputy head of the investigation and management department. In August 1979 he moved to the Hessian Ministry of the Interior . He stayed there until May 1987 and was most recently head of the “ Deployment of the Criminal Police ” department.

In May 1987, Frerichs was appointed Police Vice- President of the Frankfurt am Main Police Headquarters . On July 16, 1999, he became police chief of the West Hesse police headquarters , which he headed until his retirement in 2010. His successor is Robert Schäfer .
