Police leadership academy
The Police Leadership Academy ( PFA ) was the central police school for the higher police force and was located in the Münster district of Hiltrup in Westphalia . The state of North Rhine-Westphalia was responsible for the funding ; the costs were co-financed by the state police.
With the decision of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament on January 27, 2005, the Police Leadership Academy was merged with the German Police University on March 1, 2006 , which has been at the same location since then.
Her tasks included:
- Training for the higher police service of the Federation and the country as a council candidate
- Further training of officials of the higher police service of the federal and state governments
- Maintaining and promoting international relations with the police in other countries
- Research in the field of police at the Police Technical Institute (PTI)
The training included:
- Management, Organization and Economics (Faculty I)
- Police Management (Department II)
- Law and Social Sciences (Faculty III)
- Language training (English, French, Italian, Spanish)
founding
The facility was founded in 1945 after the Second World War on the orders of the British military government under the name "Central Police School Hiltrup". The course began as early as July 1945. The police school was the central facility within the British occupation zone , where teaching staff for the regional police schools within the British zone, such as the Lower Saxony State Police School in Hann. Münden , was trained.
