On her thirteenth birthday Laura Leander learns that she was born under the "sign of the thirteen" and that she, like her suddenly lost father, belongs to the Guardians of Light whose task it is to protect the earth and its sister planet Aventerra from to protect the dark side of Prince Borboron. From now on she will be trained in her superhuman abilities by three trained guards at her boarding school Ravenstein, namely telekinesis, mind reading and dream journeys (the latter helps her to travel to other places or the past in order to continue the fight against evil there). In the first volume she tries to bring the chalice of enlightenment that is hidden on earth to Aventerra, which unfortunately she does not succeed. In the second volume she is faced with the decision to give the cup to the “bad guys” so that she can get her father back or to give it to the “good guys”. In the first four volumes Laura undertakes numerous adventures to arm the earth and Aventerra from attacks by evil. She is often accompanied by her brother Lukas and her friend Kaja. She also hopes to be able to free her father, who was abducted from the black side to Aventerra , and she is taking great risks. At the end of the fourth volume she succeeds in this goal and she is still striving to solve the mystery of her allegedly deceased mother. At the end of the fifth volume it is unclear whether there will be a continuation of the story about Aventerra and whether Laura will also play in it.

In the sixth book, Laura lost all memory of Aventerra . Nevertheless, she is attacked from the dark side and put into a kind of coma. With the help of dream trips, she has to fight the dark side again and save herself and her brother, who is taken over by the dark side.
