Peter Gausmann (2014)

Peter Gausmann (born October 21, 1960 in Osnabrück ) is a German expert on patient safety and clinical risk management. The business economist and pedagogue is the managing director of the Society for Risk Consulting, Detmold, honorary professor at the Danube University Krems and a member of the supervisory board of a north German clinic association.

Life

After completing his vocational training as a nurse, Peter Gausmann worked in intensive care at the Marienhospital Osnabrück. A further education course in psychology at the University of Oldenburg was followed by a degree in nursing education at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences in Northern Germany and a degree in business administration at the University of Osnabrück . He did his doctorate on risk management at the Weingarten University of Education .

Since 2000, Peter Gausmann has been a lecturer on patient safety and clinical risk management at various universities, professional academies and regional medical associations. He is a board member of the Patient Safety Action Alliance (APS), the Patient Safety Platform, Austria, a member of the Federal Health Management Commission in the German Economic Council, a member of the Medical Board of the BVBG and a member of the German-Chinese Society for Medicine, DCGM.
