Peter Gilch

Peter Gilch (* 1970 in Bonn ) is a German chemist. He is a professor at the Institute for Femtosecond Spectroscopy at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf .

Life

After graduating from high school, Gilch studied chemistry at the University of Konstanz . After graduating, he moved to the LMU Munich , where he received his doctorate in 1999 in the work group of Maria-Elisabeth Michel-Beyerle . He completed his habilitation in 2004 under the direction of Wolfgang Zinth at the Chair of BioMolecular Optics at LMU Munich. After four years as a private lecturer, he accepted a position at Heinrich-Heine University in 2009. The focus of his scientific work is on femtosecond fluorescence spectroscopy, transient UV / Vis absorption spectroscopy and femtosecond-stimulated Raman spectroscopy (FSRS). On March 21, 2014 he was appointed W2 professor.

He is a member of the Munich Center for Advanced Photonics (MAP).
