Wolfgang Zinth

Wolfgang Zinth (born November 27, 1950 in Obergünzburg ) is a German physicist .

life and work

Zinth studied physics at the Technical University of Munich , where he graduated in 1976, obtained his doctorate in 1979 and completed his habilitation in 1985. From 1987 to 1991 he was professor of physics there. Since 1991 he has been Professor of Physics at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , where he was also Dean of Studies from 1999 to 2003. Today he holds the “Chair for BioMolecular Optics” (BMO) there.

He has been a full member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences since 2012 .

Zinth is married and has two daughters.
