Peter Hänni

Peter Hänni (born April 23, 1958 in Bern ) is a Swiss doctor and crime writer .

Life

Peter Hänni was born in Bern as the first of two children of Fritz and Giovanna Hänni (née Varretta). He has a younger sister. After studying law for a few semesters , he began studying medicine at the University of Bern in 1980 . He finished this in 1986 with a state examination and a year later with a doctorate . During his studies, Hänni worked as a butcher's assistant, taxi driver and construction worker. In 1994 he became an FMH specialist in oto-rhino-laryngology , and in 1996 he acquired the additional title for neck and facial surgery . In 1996 Peter Hänni opened his private practice in Solothurn .

Peter Hänni is married, has three children and lives with his family near Solothurn. He also has Italian citizenship.

Books

In 2006, Hänni's first crime novel with the title Mord in Montella was published by a book-on-demand publisher, as it was only to be passed on in private. Two years later, a revised version of the crime novel was published by the Swiss medical publisher EMH under the title Rosas Blut . The foundation of his first crime novel is based on an autobiographical family history that took place in Montella (Italy).

In 2010, Hänni's second novel, Sperm Donation, was published by the Swiss publisher Cosmos . It deals with the sensitive issue of sperm donation and its possible excesses.

Hänni's third crime novel, Freitod, the 13th , was published in 2011. It deals with the subject of euthanasia .

In 2014, Hänni's fourth crime novel Boarding Time was published . The thriller is about four middle-aged friends who go on a motorcycle tour to South Africa .
