The Cosmos-Verlag AG is a Swiss publishing house based in Muri bei Bern .
Publishing program
Focus of publishing activity is on the one textbook program with the topics of tax , legal and economic , on the other fiction , bern German literature, non-fiction , reference books and children's books . In addition, Cosmos-Verlag also publishes the magazine Steuer Revue . The company also operates its own online specialist bookstore .
history
The publishing house was founded in 1923 and converted into a stock corporation in 1936 . Originally, the publisher ran a pure range of specialist books on business and legal topics. In 1946 the specialist magazine “Steuer Revue” was launched.
In 1982 Cosmos-Verlag entered the book trade. The publishing activities were expanded in 1985 with the takeover of the fiction part of the Francke publishing house in Bern and the program, which had hitherto been purely subject-specific, was expanded to include a fiction section.
In 2004, the integration of «first.seminare.ag», which specializes in advanced training, followed. In 2009 the book trade was relaunched as an online specialist bookstore under the “Cosmos Business” brand. From 2011 the company stepped into the "digital business". Was launched u. a. an online platform specializing in tax law (Steuerportal.ch) and with “Cosmos Digital” a device-independent reading and research platform.
In 2016, the “Zoll Revue | Aussenwirtschaft - Recht und Praxis »the second publisher's own trade journal founded.
