Peter H. Werhahn

Peter Heinz Werhahn (born May 5, 1913 in Berlin ; † November 9, 1996 in Königsdorf ) was a German entrepreneur .

Life

Peter Heinz Werhahn, son of the marriage of Peter Werhahn and Adele Herfeldt-Werhahn, passed his Abitur in Neuss at the humanistic grammar school in 1932. From 1932 to 1938 he studied economics at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen and Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel . In 1938 he was with the dissertation export of capital and debt transfer in the business cycle to Dr. rer. pole. PhD . Since 1932 he was a member of the Catholic student association AV Guestfalia Tübingen .

From 1938 he was in the family business Wilh. Werhahn KG in Neuss and from the 1960s onwards he was responsible for open-cast lignite mining, cutlery manufacturers, retail and banking at board level. After all, he was on the board of directors of Wilh from 1978 to 1983. Werhahn KG. He was director and shareholder of the Horremer briquette factory and other companies as well as a member of the supervisory board of Heinrich Bergbau AG, later also a member of the supervisory board of Ytong AG in Munich and Wanderer Werke AG in Krefeld and Commerzbank AG .

Werhahn was one of the co-founders of the Association of Catholic Entrepreneurs (BKU) in 1949 . Together with Franz Greiss, Werner Habig, Theophil Herder-Dorneich , Werner Linnemann, August Küster , Wilhelm Naegel and Peter Zettelmeyer, he was a member of the first board as Vice President. From 1960 to 1964 he was the only German President of the International Association of Christian Entrepreneurs UNIAPAC . He published numerous papers on economic, socio-political and ethical issues.

Peter H. Werhahn was married to Anne Marie, b. Kallen.
