Peter Haller (economist)

Peter Haller (* 1967 ) is a German public accountant and professor of Business Administration specializing in the International Accounting at the University of Fulda and the Administration and Business Academy Fulda .

Career

Haller studied from 1989 to 1995 economics and business administration at the Georg-August-University of Goettingen and obtained in 1994 the degree of graduate economist and 1995 to the Diplom-Kaufmann .

After completing his studies, Haller completed a research internship in 1996 at the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General in Harare , Zimbabwe and in 1997 at the Audit Service in Accra , Ghana . He received his doctorate in 1997 as a Dr.rer.soc.oec. at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, working on the activities of audit offices in industrialized and developing countries .

He then worked as an auditor at KPMG Deutsche Treuhandgesellschaft AG until he was a manager at PWC Deutsche Revision AG from 2000 to 2002 . Both auditing firms are among the so-called " Big Four ". The appointment as auditor took place on February 18, 2003.

In addition to international accounting, his work focuses on accounting according to the German Commercial Code (HGB) and accounting tax law. Haller also deals with derivative financial instruments and company valuation .

Haller is currently working both at the Fulda University of Applied Sciences in the Faculty of Business and at the Fulda Administration and Business Academy as a university professor and lecturer for general business administration specializing in international accounting . He is also a member of the Institute of Auditors , the Chamber of Auditors , the German Institute for Internal Auditing and the Schmalenbach Society .

On November 8, 2009, Peter Haller took part in the mayor election in Bitterfeld-Wolfen as a candidate of the SPD , but received only 13.25% of the vote.
