Peter Hammond (director)

Peter Hammond (actually Peter Charles Hammond Hill ; born November 23, 1923 in London , England ; † October 12, 2011 there ) was a British actor and television director .

Life

Hammond made his Waterloo Road debut in 1945 and played the role of the handsome young man next door for a little over a decade. He became known among other things for the films about the fictional "Huggett" family. However, he played most of his roles for television , where he was booked for early series such as The Buccaneers (1956/57) and William Tell (1958/59). After 1960 he switched to the other side of the camera and directed numerous television series and occasional television films until the mid-1990s. Hammond's film Herring und Portwein , was made in 1970; with the children's western Phantom Kid He staged a second time for the screen seven years later.
