Peter Herrmann (politician)

Georg Peter Herrmann (born February 21, 1828 in Schwanheim ; † January 3, 1902 in Darmstadt ) was a German civil servant, politician ( National Liberal Party ) and member of the state parliament of the Grand Duchy of Hesse.

Peter Herrmann was the son of the farmer and box master Ludwig Herrmann (1797–1862) and his wife Margarethe née Schmidt (1801–1853). Peter Herrmann, who was of Protestant denomination, married Anna Maria, née Dilger (1834–1917) , on April 7, 1863 .

Herrmann was the chief fireworker in the Grand Ducal Artillery Corps. In 1862 he became assistant 2nd class at the main customs office in Mainz, in 1867 main customs office assistant 1st class in Mainz and in 1869 inspector at the secondary customs office 1st class in Bensheim with the capture of the town. In 1872 he became the subordinate customs office in Bensheim. In 1889 he was transferred to Bingen as chief tax officer. After being appointed to the government council in 1896, he retired in 1898.

In the 26th to 28th electoral period (1887-1893) he was a member of the second chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. In the state estates he represented the constituency Starkenburg 5 / Fürth .
