Peter Hinz (surgeon)

Peter Hinz (born January 11, 1964 in Löbau ) is a German surgeon . He is a specialist in surgery, specializing in trauma surgery , and orthopedics .

education

From 1970 to 1973 he attended elementary school, from 1973 to 1974 the Benjamin Preusker School and from 1974 to 1978 Polytechnic High School in his hometown of Löbau. After attending the extended secondary school “Geschwister Scholl” in Löbau from 1978 to 1982, he passed his Abitur in 1982 . From 1982 to 1983 he then completed basic training in the aviation hospital of the National People's Army in Dresden . He then studied medicine at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University of Greifswald from 1983 to 1989 ; in 1989 he obtained his license to practice medicine ; his diploma thesis was entitled “Surgical results after ankle fractures - a clinical study”. In 1997 he received his doctorate , the thesis was devoted to the topic “Retrospective analysis of the development of premature occlusions after surgical reconstruction in the femoropopliteal section at the Surgical University Clinic Greifswald in the years 1987-1992 and the conclusions drawn from it”.

His habilitation in 2011 on the topic of “New risks of prophylactic measures in trauma surgery using the example of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia” was followed in 2016 by a call to the W2 professorship for trauma surgery with a focus on complication management. In 2017 he was awarded the title of University Professor by the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

He took part in the GDR championships in weight training and was third in 1986 and 1987. In 1992, Peter Hinz was world champion in the bench press in Kaohsiung . From 1996 to 1998 he attended the Deutsche Verkehrsfliegerschule Sonntag GmbH in Hamburg , where he acquired a professional pilot's license .
