Peter Huber (lawyer)

Peter Huber (* 1966 ) is a German lawyer and has been a professor of civil law, international private law and comparative law at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz since 2000 .

Life

Huber initially studied law from 1986 to 1991 in Regensburg and Lausanne, then in 1992 he obtained the title LL.M. at King's College London. in International Business Law . After that he was promoted to Dr. jur. PhD at the University of Regensburg . From 1993 to 1995 he completed his legal clerkship in the OLG districts of Nuremberg and Munich . Afterwards he was a visiting research fellow at King's College in London for a year and then worked as a research assistant at the University of Regensburg until 1999, where he completed his habilitation in 1999.

After substituting professorships in Heidelberg and Munich, Huber turned down a call to the professorship for civil law at the University of Bonn. Since October 2000 he has held the chair for civil law, international private law and comparative law at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. He is secretary of the section on civil law in the Society for Comparative Law and is also a member of numerous academic associations.
