Dieter Henrich (lawyer)

Dieter Henrich (born December 1, 1930 in Düsseldorf ) is a German legal scholar . From 1973 to 1981 he was the academic head of the University of Regensburg , from 1973 to 1975 under the designation "Rector", from 1975 to 1981 as its "President".

Life

Dieter Henrich studied law at the University of Munich from 1949 to 1953 . In 1956 he was at Murad Ferid with a thesis on the preliminary question in private international law for Dr. jur. PhD . He then worked as a research assistant in Munich and as a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg. In 1962 he completed his habilitation in Munich, also with Murad Ferid, in the subjects of civil law , international private law and comparative law .

1963 Henrich received a reputation as a full professor at the University of Marburg . From 1967 until his retirement in 1999 he held the chair for civil law, international private law and comparative law at the University of Regensburg . From 1973 to 1975 he was its rector, from 1975 to 1981 its president, then until 1984 its vice-president.

Henrich is President of the German Council for International Private Law.

Since 1949 he has been a member of the KDStV Tuiskonia Munich in the CV .

Act

Henrich has made a particular contribution to the further development of family law and international private law through numerous academic papers . He is the author or publisher of numerous standard works and editor of two recognized specialist journals.

Professor Henrich's research focuses on comparative and international private , commercial and procedural law as well as arbitration . In addition, he is co-editor of the magazine for the entire family law (FamRZ) and the magazine Praxis des Internationale Privat- und procedural law (IPrax).

In 1978 Henrich received the Bavarian Order of Merit . In 1981, the city awarded him Regensburg the Albertus Magnus Medal , 1995, the University of Trieste , the honorary doctorate (dott hc.); In 1997 Henrich became Honorary Senator of the University of Ljubljana . In 2003 he received the Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .
