Peter Kalff
Peter Kalff (* 1440; † after 1465) was a German Cistercian monk . He was long considered the author of the Redentiner Easter game .
Life
Little is known about his life. He was a Cistercian and is mentioned in 1465 as a magister curiae orator , i.e. as court master of the court in Redentin near Wismar , now part of Krusenhagen , which belongs to the Cistercian monastery Bad Doberan . From this, Carl Schröder concluded in 1898 in his edition of the Redentiner Easter game that he was also the author of the game. However, this assumption has been increasingly called into question since the 1960s. It is not even certain that he is the author of the transcript.
By Peter Kalff is Rostock Hansaviertel the Peter-Kalff Street named.
