Peter Laurence O'Keefe

Sir Peter Laurence O'Keefe CVO (1974) (born July 9, 1931 - May 2, 2003 ) was a British diplomat .

O'Keefe married Suzanne Marie Jousse and they had three daughters. Peter Laurence O'Keefe became a tax officer at HM Customs and Excise in 1953 and joined the Foreign Service in 1962. His first assignment was Bangkok , where he was promoted from second-class embassy secretary to first-class embassy secretary. From 1965 to 1968 he was employed in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office , from 1968 to 1972 he headed the consular department in Athens . From July 1972 to 1976 Peter Laurence O'Keefe was Consul General in Jakarta . He was consul in New York City from September 17, 1978 through . From 1988 to 1991 he was ambassador to Prague .
