Peter Ludewig
Peter "Mampe" Ludewig (born July 22, 1941 in Freital ; † December 23, 2021 ) was a German musician . He became known as the singer and percussionist of the Dresden rock band electra .
Life
Ludewig studied at the Academy of Music Carl Maria von Weber Dresden in the dance music class . After graduating in 1969, he worked for a few years as a drum teacher at the Freital Music School. He also founded the rock band Electra in 1969 with Bernd Aust , Wolfgang Riedel, Karl-Heinz Ringel and Ekkehard Berger and thus became a professional musician.
Until 1984 he was a singer and drummer there. During this time five LPs and several singles were created. For the Electra album Adaptionen he composed most of the pieces with Rainer Uebel - adaptations of classical works. He also appeared in many productions on GDR television .
He then had guest appearances in various rock bands, including Simple Song . From 1985 he worked as a soloist in the genres of rock and satire and toured with the solo program Mampe in spe at home and abroad. The radio productions The Tenor and Help, I Burst , with which the soloist also appeared on television, fall during this period .
From September 1996 Ludewig was back on stage with electra after a twelve-year separation . From then on he was one of the front men at concerts by the “Saxon Dreier”, which consisted of the star combo Meißen , Lift and electra .
From 1997 Ludewig released several dialect CDs in Upper Saxon and was musically involved in regional marketing in his hometown Freital and the Weißeritztalbahn . In 2004 he published an audio book on Saxon homeland legends, which is a combined reading, audio and coloring book.
In 2014 he ended his career as a singer and drummer for electra.
