Peter Muck

Peter Muck (born August 22, 1919 ; † April 10, 2011 ) was a German musician .

Life

Muck, violinist and violist , was a member of the Berlin Philharmonic from 1949 to 1978 . In 1968 he began collecting documents on the orchestral history of the Berliner Philharmoniker. On the occasion of the orchestra's centenary, in May 1982 he presented the three-volume commemorative publication One Hundred Years of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra . With his collection he laid the foundation stone for the archive of the Berlin Philharmonic, which is now housed in the State Institute for Music Research .
