Peter Norman Nissen
Peter Norman Nissen (born August 6, 1871 in New York City , † March 2, 1930 ) was an American / Canadian engineer and officer in the British Army.
Life
In 1916, Peter Norman Nissen developed the Nissenhütte , later named after him, for the British Army , a self-supporting structure made of corrugated iron that was used for accommodation during the First and Second World Wars . After the Second World War, they also served as emergency shelter for civilians.
