Peter Nthwane

Peter "Malome" Nthwane (* around 1952; † November 11, 2016 in Bloemfontein ) was a South African jazz musician ( trumpet , also vocals, composition ) who was previously active as a dancer.

Nthwane started his career in the 1980s as a choreographer and was named "National Champion of Ballroom Dance". He has dedicated himself to jazz as an instrumentalist and singer since 2001. He first released the albums The Beginning of the Road and Walk on Fire on his own label, before he was signed to Sheer Sound . The albums Back to Your Roots and Devil in Your House were created for this label , followed by the albums Live in Concert (2009) and Ndabazabantu (2012). Two of his albums achieved gold status.

Nthwane was shot dead in his home. The killers were still unknown at the end of 2017.
