Peter Ottmann (politician)

Peter Ottmann (born March 28, 1951 in Warendorf ) is a German administrative lawyer and politician ( CDU ).

Job and family

Peter Ottmann studied from 1969 Rechtswissen sheep Tenenbaums at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . There he became a member of the Catholic student union AV Alsatia Münster in the CV in 1970 . In 1977 he passed his second state examination in law.

After several positions in public administration as legal counsel in Ahaus (1977 to 1981), head of department at the Gütersloh district (1981 to 1984), city director in Cloppenburg (1984 to 1990), he was city director in Nettetal from 1990 to 1999.

Ottmann is district chairman of the German Red Cross and a member of the Lions Club . He is also a member of the RWE AG supervisory board .

Peter Ottmann has been a member of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany since 1972 .

From 1999 to 2004 he was mayor of Nettetal . In the local elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2004 , he was elected to the district administrator of the Viersen district with an absolute majority of 51.4 percent . In the local elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2009 , he was able to increase his majority to 53.03 percent. He did not run for the 2015 election; Andreas Coenen was his successor .

Private

He is married to the economist Katharina and has two children.
