Peter Paterna
Peter Paterna (* 22. December 1937 in Cuxhaven , † the 30th October 2018 in Hamburg ) was a German politician of the SPD .
A teacher by profession, Paterna joined the SPD in 1962. From 1976 to 1994 he was a member of the German Bundestag . He was always directly elected in the constituency of Eimsbüttel and Hamburg-Eimsbüttel . In the Bundestag he was chairman of the committee for post and telecommunications from 1987 to 1994 (from 1989: post and telecommunications). His doubts about the sense of data transmission via e-mail have remained known: after all, you have "a functioning courier system ".
