Peter Paul Jost

Peter Paul Jost (born May 10, 1925 in Trier ; † June 7, 1974 there ) was a German architect and politician ( SPD ). From 1970 to 1974 he was a member of the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate .

Life

The son of the baker Peter J. Jost and Maria, geb. Rahaus, attended primary school in Trier and then completed an apprenticeship. He was drafted into the Wehrmacht in 1942, took part in World War II as a soldier and was most recently taken prisoner by the British. From 1946 to 1948 a stay in the English re-education camp Wilton Park followed . After returning to his homeland, he took up a degree in architecture , which he completed with an exam in 1951. From 1953 he worked as a freelance architect in Trier.

In addition to his professional activity, Jost was a member of the Board of Trier-Kaiserslautern University . He was also involved in workers' welfare : he had been a member of the AWO district committee for Rhineland / Hessen-Nassau since 1958, a member of the AWO federal committee since 1967 and a member of the AWO district association in Trier since 1973.

Jost joined the SPD in 1951. He was elected deputy chairman of the SPD sub-district of Trier in 1962 and was a member of the SPD district committee for Rhineland / Hesse-Nassau from 1965. From 1966 to 1970 he headed the Trier city association of the SPD. From 1956 he was a member of the Trier city council and from 1957 chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. On July 1, 1970, he replaced the resigned MP Hans König in the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament, to which he was a member until his death. Until the end of the sixth legislative period, he was a member of the cultural policy committee. After his mandate was confirmed in the 1971 state elections , he was a member of the Agriculture and Viticulture Committee and the Budget and Finance Committee for the seventh term. After his death, Josef Endres took over the state parliament mandate.

Peter Paul Jost had been with Marianne, born in 1952. Pütz, married. The couple had three sons.
