Peter Robert Steiner (born March 26, 1955 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian hospital manager and honorary professor for medical law at the Private University for Health Sciences, Medical Informatics and Technology (UMIT) in Hall iT

Life

Peter R. Steiner holds a doctorate in business administration (Mag. Et Dr. rer. Soc. Oec.), Lawyer (Mag. Et Dr. iur.) And historian (Dr. phil.).

1983–1991 he worked in the public accountancy and auditing department in Vienna, Salzburg and Innsbruck. From 1992–2003 he held various management positions in the hospital sector, including as sole managing director of a private hospital with beds (1998–2003). Since December 1st, 2003 he has been Commercial Director at the A.ö. Regional hospital (university clinics) Innsbruck .

From 2002–2004 he was an honorary member of the fund commission of the PRIKRAF ( private hospitals financing fund ) in Vienna (representative of the professional association of private hospitals and health resorts of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce). From 2006-2016 he was involved in the quality control authority for auditors and auditing companies set up at the BMWFW on an honorary basis in the establishment of a review and control committee for external quality assurance for the auditing companies of Austrian auditors and auditing companies.

Steiner wrote scientific articles, book chapters and books with a focus on medical and hospital law. He performed teaching positions as a university lecturer in hospital law, civil law and university law. Since 2003 he has been honorary professor for medical law at the Private University for Health Sciences, Medical Informatics and Technology (UMIT) in Hall iT
