Abderrahime Bouramdane
Abderrahime Bouramdane (born June 23, 1978 in Aïn Kansara ) is a Moroccan marathon runner .
Career
Inspired by his compatriot Rhadi Ben Abdesselam , who won the silver medal in the marathon at the 1960 Olympic Games, Bouramdane started running in 1995.
He won the Tunis Marathon in 2004 and the Marrakech Marathon in 2005 . In 2006 he won the Ottawa Marathon in a curious way. A leading group of 14 athletes was misdirected and accidentally shortened the distance by 400 meters. Bouramdane was the first runner who had run the correct distance to arrive at the finish in 2:12:17 h and was subsequently declared the winner. The runners in front of him were not included in the official ranking. That same year, Bouramdane finished second in the Toronto Waterfront Marathon in 2:10:40 hours.
He set his personal best of 2:08:20 h in November 2007 as runner-up in the JoongAng Seoul Marathon . Previously, in August of the same year, he had only finished 45th at the World Athletics Championships in Osaka under difficult climatic conditions in a time of 2:33:26 h.
In 2008 Bouramdane finished second in the Boston Marathon in 2:09:04 hours. After a 26th place in the marathon of the Olympic Games in Beijing , he reached fifth place in the New York City Marathon in November . The following year it repeated its placement in New York City. In 2010 he finished fourth in the London Marathon and tenth in the New York City Marathon. In 2011 he finished seventh in London. At the World Championships in Daegu, he was fourth. At the 2012 Olympic Games in London, he could not finish the marathon.
In 2015 he was banned for two years for doping . In addition, all results from April 2011 have been deleted.
