Peter Ritter (politician)
Peter Ritter (born May 31, 1959 in Riesa ) is a German politician ( SED , PDS , Die Linke ). He has been a member of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state parliament since 1994 .
Life
After graduating from high school, Ritter completed vocational training as an electronics worker. He then studied at the officers' college of the land forces of the NVA and graduated as a college engineer for communications technology. From 1981 he was an officer in the NVA in various positions. In September 1990 he was released from the NVA. In 1991 he finished studying philosophy at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University of Greifswald as a "diploma philosopher ". From 1991 to 1994, Ritter was district manager of the PDS in Malchin . He is non-denominational, married and has two children.
politics
Ritter was a member of the SED from 1979 and entered the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania for the first time on November 15, 1994 for the PDS . Since 1991 he has been a member of the district council of Malchin , later Demmin , and there initially chairman of the youth welfare committee. From 1994 to 2000 he was district chairman of the PDS in Demmin. From 2001 to 2009 he was state chairman of the PDS / Die Linke in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In the state elections since 1994 he was elected to the state parliament via the state list of the PDS or Die Linke. There he was chairman of the environmental committee until 1998 and then deputy chairman of the parliamentary group until November 2002. He was also the spokesman for the parliamentary group for domestic policy, peace and migration policy and anti-fascism. On September 27, 2011, he was elected parliamentary director of the Die Linke parliamentary group, also in September 2016.
In the Bundestag elections in 2005 and 2009 he was a direct candidate for the PDS and Die Linke in Bundestag constituency 16 , in 2009 he achieved a first-time vote of 29.2%.
Since 2009 he has been chairman of the joint parliamentary group of Die Linke and Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in the Demmin district assembly .
Since 2011, Ritter has been a member of the district council of the newly created district "Mecklenburg Lake District" and chairman of the youth welfare committee there.
